Hello!

I'm still alive and all that. Haven't updated for a while because I'm a lazy git.

Few interesting things happening, perhaps for me only...

The Bearcast is on a backburner for a while as there's the Box Room ( http://theboxroom.mevio.com/ ) podcast that Jen and I are falling behind with also.
Added to the podcasting confusions I am now a proud co-host of the DWO WhoCast!

http://www.thewhocast.com/

So I am sitting here typing this while I should be researching Peter Davison for recording part 2 of our 5th Doctor retrospective tomorrow.

So far I have interviewed Sylvester McCoy and Nicholas Briggs. Discussed how mean mobile phone companies are regarding their charges with Sophie Aldred. Got offered lunch by Tinhead from Brookside. Stood in awe at the magical world of recordings at Big Finish.

And as a personal victory, talked some pretty decent toot with Robert Rankin at David Devereux's book launch last Thursday (hangover: very). Superb!

Pyra is older, bigger and currently perched on my shoulder after wiping her nose on my face.

There is food in my tummy, wine in the glass and all seems to be okay in the world so far.

( I also have given in and joined Twitter, let's see how it goes... http://twitter.com/BoxRoom )

Our desire to do more is great indeed and we will get on and do another one very soon but we have a major distraction here.

Her name is Pyra, she is eight weeks old and she is our new master:

In the short space of time she has been with us she has learned that:
Table legs are the enemy!
*cough*

Cor, got a bit dusty in my journal I see!
(not in my pants though so that's a relief)

Hello! How's things? Good? Good.

Since the last update, circa the death of Mr Jesus, things have improved somewhat (although not financially). We're in a new flat, we've got a breakdancing elephant living above us, got a new job, got curry and wine for dinner tonight and something else... what was it...

(psst, is it something to do with the bears being on telly?)

Oh yeah! Silly me, how could I forget...
The Bears Are On Telly!!

After a few efforts, BBC Three finally gave in and picked the intro to Two Pints of Lager which can be seen..... here:

Bears on TV

Although I can't see an episode of the bloody thing on telly anytime soon so I hope they don't forget about me...

Apart from that, I actually wrote some of Episode Three of the Lost Bearings Audio Thing yesterday. There's a little secret project that's almost underway that'll get Jen screaming at me for wasting her life (but it'll be great, the end product not the screaming that is). The world is shiny and my arse is blue. And that's just about it for now. Can't think of anything else at the moment because my glass is empty and I need to fetch more wine.

That's the Britishness of me though, I'll apologise to the air for walking through it.

Now we have to keep the place oh so everso tidy because people might be dropping in to view the place at anytime and we've still got to live here for another bloody month yet!

Jen bought a bottle of wine back home tonight, I don't fancy the chances of it lasting the night.

There's still one more chapter to go in the book of my life. There's been highs, lows and neither-ups-nor-downs. It's the chapter where everything comes to a head, all loose ends are tied up (perhaps, perhaps not... just in case there's a sequel) and we discover if our hero gets to live happily ever after or is doomed forever more... until the possible sequel.

There are so many things I'd like to be getting on with. My own projects (the Lost Bearings audio thing for one, I love doing the voices and putting it all together, I have found myself quite competent at that!), projects with Jen... basically all round creative stuff that is somewhat lacking in motivation because of my extremely dire financial situation. Namely that I have reached the absolute end of any and every limit by just trying to survive. I need help.

Today I woke up and felt that something was different, something about today would be a feature in the last chapter of this book of my life so far (book two should see me embarking on a brand new adventure but with the same sidekicks and love interest). We have to make a decision on whether we will take the new flat as soon as, which we just simply can't afford because I don't have a job and am dangerously skint, and it may be that today is the day when we have to decide. So, do we take it in the hope that I get a job in the nick of time?
We'll have to move out of this flat we're in now anyway so we've also got that to deal with.

So, thanks to everything my creative urges have been stifled. Rather than getting on with something I enjoy doing I tend to stare into space and wonder what the fuck I'm going to do.

It's a bit of a pickle.

Surely you can push out a wee in a public toilet place at least once a year can't you?
The answer, wee friends, is nopes.
This happened at the last Anime All-Nighter I went to. The toilets were packed. Packed with nerds and geeks (not sure if I'm a geek or a nerd, I think geek but I could be wrong) and they were all of them... ALL OF THEM queuing for the cubicles.
I should have learned my lesson.
First time I needed the toilet in the actually inadequate amount of time between films (which included ciggy and grabbing a drink too) there was a massive queue.
The girls found this most amusing.
Eventually one bloke broke away and returned moments later to tell us that the urinals were indeed free.

Why!? There's no time for you all to wait in line for one of the two cubicles!
Get out yer todge, think of waterfalls, hope you don't push out a squeaker and get the fuck out of my way!

Another cracking time though :)

It's just the toilets... the toilets baffle me.

"I have an idea!"

And so began Lost Bearings.
It is an all-in-one type of place, kind of hub, for the bears stuff and to also try and keep track of all our lovely ones (which be you lot reading this, I'll happily wager).

The address is this thing: http://bearings.forum5.com

And it was born for various reasons. Mainly because of the bears, but you don't have to talk about them if you hate them.
Also mainly because we hate MySpace.
And mainly because we are rubbish at keeping in touch.
And mainly because we want to get all the lovely folk we've known, know and want to know in one glorious whole... [pause for laughter]

Aw, it's all the above and more. We didn't want to start a new forum but this seemed like the best option.

And we were drunk.

Point is... er...

Please join!

Yes.

The Marty and The Jen
